Founded in 2015 by Brooke Kimbrough and Cassie Wright, Roots Surrogacy was born from personal experiences with surrogacy and assisted reproduction. Brooke, a former surrogate, carried a child for a single gay father in San Francisco—a journey that profoundly impacted her and inspired the creation of an agency centered on empathy and connection. Cassie, an attorney and parent through IVF, brought her legal expertise and firsthand understanding of fertility challenges to the partnership. ​

Together, they established Roots Surrogacy in the Bay Area, aiming to provide a boutique, relationship-driven experience for surrogates and intended parents alike. Their approach emphasizes transparency, mutual respect, and individualized support throughout the surrogacy process.

​Over the years, Roots Surrogacy has grown into a mid-sized agency, helping to create hundreds of families while maintaining their core values. They are particularly dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community, ensuring that all families feel welcomed and supported. ​
