I joined the GWK family in 2014 as an aspiring dad-to-be, with a niche understanding of child development and dreams of fatherhood. As a GWK Academy Board Member and now father (via foster care and adoption), I hope to both advocate for LGBTQ+ family building as well as support the healthy development of children lucky enough to be the center of these breautiful families.
- Children: 1
- Family-building journey: We became dads through adoption from foster care
- Parenting advice: I encourage others to consider fostering, despite the emotional toll it can take. It’s the most rewarding job you’ll ever have. I believe that if you can be a parent, you can be a foster parent. Everyone says, ‘I could never do that, I wouldn’t want to give them up.’ And that’s true, you often don’t. But that just means you were the perfect person to be that child’s foster parent. That’s love, and every kid deserves it.
