  • Children: 3

  • Family-building journey:  My wife and I have three donor-conceived children. She gave birth to our first, and I gave birth to our second two. After our first child was born, I went through a second parent adoption process to secure our legal connection. Between our first and second children’s births, our state updated its parentage laws and we were able to take advantage of this new affirming process to secure pre-birth orders for our second and third child. Today, same-sex parents in our state have a third option for securing their families: confirmatory adoption.

  • Parenting advice: Lead with love. We are all just doing the best we can, fumbling our way through. If we lead with love, we’ll be doing something right.
